It was one strange happening. A simple text message changed everything. A friend from a different region handed over my resume to his brother who had also handed it to a friend. Thru channels, I was being set for an appointment, a date and time which I barely made it. Work was short-manned that time making it more difficult to take a leave but I guess, FATE made a way. A lame excuse of going out with Mom worked.
Still with uncertainty, or was just compelling with a friends request, July 5, 2011, 1 PM I went to a corporation I haven't heard of but dared to tell them honestly of my ignorance. Was hesitant then but my emotional support from two dear friends (my mentor and now my "Kitchen Cabinet) boosted my confidence. A slendered figure and pretty-faced woman called me "Ella" from the far end door of an office. The offer was made, left me gaping and floating. Smile seemed to be plastered on my face unable to grasp how fast things are. Had a few bloopers though and I can laugh about it now. A strange offer from a strange company. Right there and then, a mutual understanding concluded but have asked, for a written confirmation before I'll tender my resignation with my old job.
On my 7th year anniversary, July 12, 2011, a call from our Head of branches then received, advising me for another career advancement. The next day, a text message received from the described slendered figure and pretty-faced woman who happens to be the President of the company. Laid conditions met. Resignation tendered.
Now, I am here in a strange place, a Stranger. But not for so long, as this will be my new HOME.
